“Built in Britain – Making an impression Worldwide”

Teagle Machinery was pleased to welcome Chancellor George Osborne to its factory on his visit to Cornwall on 15th May 2014.

Teagle employ around 150 people, most of whom are based at the 15,000m2 factory near St Agnes in Cornwall, manufacturing Agricultural Machinery including Tomahawk Feeder Bedders, Titan Manure Spreaders, Pasture Toppers and Swath Conditioners.
Mr Osborne said of the visit “I’ve been really impressed by what I’ve seen. Thanks to fantastic companies like Teagle and their staff the British economy is now growing and rebalancing.”

The visit focussed on Teagle’s success in exporting around 50% of their market leading range of Tomahawk Feeder Bedders to over 35 countries around the globe.

This success has provided justification to develop machines tailored specifically for these markets, as well as recent investment in buildings and plant including Dynamic Rotor Balancing equipment, Robot Welders, Plasma Cutters for sheet steel processing and a Powder Coating facility, as well as infrastructure to support the increased capacity that is required.

On the visit Mr Osborne officially opened a new production hall that has been designed to cater for the increased demand for bigger machines demanded by larger scale farms.

Tom Teagle, Sales Director, said of the visit “We are proud to have had our achievements in successfully manufacturing and exporting our products around the globe recognised; and for Mr Osborne to have supported our ongoing expansion by officially opening a new production hall for flagship models in our Tomahawk and Titan ranges”.

Further to this he added, “In 2015 we plan to open a further production hall in this area and Teagle are currently recruiting in all areas of the business to ensure that the skills are in place to make the most of the opportunities that this will offer.”
